The rift kept nabbing at their brown scruffy fur. The colors and quick changes of light forced the newbie to close their eyes. When solid ground can be felt under their paws, they kept still. Their head was still spinning and the sudden change of pressure knocked the wind out of them. They breathe out. “Dang it…” his eyes started to focus. Trees, there’s a shrub nearby… he can hear a creek not far. ‘At least it’s far’ his mind echoed. He lifted his head as his ears turned towards the creek. A creek? He jumped up, still stumbling from his vertigo, as he ran towards the sound. After he made it around the shrubs, he stopped. The sight made him shiver. The river was quick. The rushing water kept banging itself along the dangerous wet rocks. The current could pull him under. It would drown him in seconds. “No…nonono.” He shook his head as he took steps back hiding himself among the leaves. He took another glance at the water as his eyes focused. A feather. It was stuck between the rocks

The Shoreline, Chapter Three
The sea slug manages to get out of the glass bottle. It slowly swims around the glass tiny prison and then turns around towards Alexis. The terrestrial esk kept trying to find her footing on the ground, when it finally made eye contact with the animal the sight shocked her. It was trying to get back into the bottle, it seemed scared of the ocean current it was placed to. “Wait nono, this is great. This is your home. You are supposed to be here.” She tried reassuring it, but it didn’t budge and just tried to sneak back into the bottle. Alexis quickly gathered the bottle and with her telekinesis lifted it out of the water. “No, nono. You stay out here. You can’t stay on the island. You’ll die without water. You’ll dry out!” but the slug didn’t budge and kept trying to reach out of the water towards the bottle. Before frustration took over Alexis looked around herself. The animals gathered around her and kept quiet watching what she will do with the slug. Alexis lowered her eyes at the
Stepping out of the building Alexis tucked the goats beard bundle in her tail. The petals that typically stayed in her fur were gone, so the bundle will have to do for now. She kept tucking the small flowers into her braided tail until she knew for certain they wouldn’t fall out. As she was fixing her fur, her eyes cought a glimpse of something unnatural. The air picked back up and the birds seemed to be very eager in getting her attention. Her eyes glanced forward. It was a landmass farther away deeper in the ocean waves. It was odd and stood out among the other island. Plucking one flower from the bundle she held it up in front of her. The islands foliage was in hues of red and pinks. Alexis looked away and then back at the island. No, still pink. The birds started getting impatient as they circled her. Her face shot up as some albatross kept swooping down trying to get her attention. Slightly annoyed she stood up wanting to leave till she realized the animals in the water were

The Shoreline, Chapter One
With the amber necklace on her wrist Alexis moved through the sand. It didn’t occur to her that none of the other esk were present anymore… They had went on their own journey in finding what they had lost to the sea. Her eyes went towards the waves. Her mind kept trying to remind her of something. Has she been here before? The rise and fall of the waves have changed after finding the item. They became more docile, quiet. They tried to keep themselves still almost like an attempt to not scare her off. To her surprise the sand under her feet changed texture as well. More stone like clusters started appearing in front of her as she walked slowly on the shore. Eventually all the sand turned into stones. The stones hid small crabs and bugs in the blooming grasses. This shoreline has been abandoned for a while. The rocks were overgrown and old, untouched in quiet some time. But for Alexis, she couldn’t quite understand why her feed remembers this beach. “There’s a small pine. It’s leaning

Ebb and Flow - Alexis introduction
Alexis stood still in the conservatory and focused on the water between her paws. Mother was correct, her fear of her biome is holding her back and not allowing her to progress. She has too. If only there was a way for her to progress, to move forward and away from that awful place that had made her – she has to take that chance. Mother spoke of an event hosted by the one of her children, Makoa. Apparently the marine leader wishes to give blessings and curses. Alexis last interaction with an aquatic esk – known as Seventh – was not pleasant, but Mother assured that this child of her was different, far more playful and actually approachable. Mother even promised that seeing a new biome that is away from her own will do her good. A salt water biome… vast, dangerous and all life giving. Perhaps it will do her good. She of course will play it safe first. She lifted herself up from the water and watched the droplets fall from her fur. Its funny, she had never been a marine esk, but the
As Alexis stepped out of safety of the conservatory she sprinted out of her boundary. Each boundary location was held in high regard among esks, but to her it caused only pain and fear. Her becoming was violent and she never wished it on anyone else. While running through multiple students she saw a peaceful area farther ahead. It seemed to be a body of water. A location where there were no humans that could disturb or annoy her. She approached it with joy and wonder. She rarely had the guts to leave the conservatory, so anything beyond her boundary seemed infinitely more intriguing. Her paws reached the edge of the water. Esks had the ability to float, so instead of dipping her toes and disturbing the water she decided to glide above it. Oh, how she enjoyed the peaceful breeze, it was so mild that it didn’t even disturb the waters surface making it seem like a mirror. She stopped almost reaching the middle of the lake. Her eyes followed some of the fish deeper below the surface.
000 was finishing up their story. Many of the esks that were at the start of the story have already left. Mother could recite the history of the whole world, her knowledge unbound and for most too long to sit through. The massive esk shifted her weight to stand up so she may continue her walk through the wellsprings. The waters were clear, the bottom of the lake covered in crystals. The great esks paws sank deep under the water and carefully made their way around the colored shards. Some esks were still wondering should they follow her or be on their way. Except for one. Mother turner her head and of course, right at heel stood Alexis. “Do you ever stop seeking knowledge?” “If I am being an annoyance please do tell me. I shall leave, Mother.” The orange one shot her head up as her flowers started to wither. The large grey one shook her massive head at the worry. “No child, it’s alright. You may stay.” “Thank you!” She jumped as her flowers regained their vibrant color. The great
